Plays & Politics

First, let's do the play. I got the part of Lora in a play called An Island Christmas. It is a play that is put on at my church. We are going to perform at Christmas time. Lora is smart, resourceful and everyone's friend, according to the script. It is really fun being Lora.

I have never been in a play before. We are learning six songs to sing for the audience. I am trying out for a solo. I hope I get it.

Now for the politics.

I think McCain is being silly by raising the number of nuclear power plants. It's dangerous! I would rather see solar power plants. I like them better because it's a renewable source and it doesn't pollute at all. I think Obama will be a good president if he wins and I think McCain would be too - if he didn't raise the number of nuclear power plants.

Hi Beth! Congratulations on the play. I hope you get to do your solo too. You'll be v-e-r-y busy!
I see you've given a lot of thought to the election. Be sure to check for Zeus's opinions on my blog. I won't tell you who he's voting for and ruin the surprise.

Hey, how cool that you are going to be in your first play! I can't wait to hear how it goes!!!

I love it that you are following the race to the White House! :)

Are you going to be able to with your mom and dad when they vote? Does your school have kid-elections? I bet that you would make a class president!

I hope that someone video tapes your play so that I can watch it.

I did go with Mom when she voted. Daddy voted absentee ballot. I helped both parents vote. With Daddy I put an X in a box.

We are going to vote on different things this year at my school, but we have already voted for student representative.

That's great, Beth. The first time I voted absentee ballot, I was surprised at how big the ballot was. Were you surprised too, or was it was you expected?

When I was your age Ronald Reagan was voted president. He used to be an actor before he became president. Can you think of any other politicians who used to be actors?
