Halloween Costumes

We had a great time trick-or-treating tonight. Our costumes came from our great-aunt Bonnie - she and her sister wore them when they were little. Every house we went to said we were so cute.

You girls look GREAT! I am so glad you had a fun time! Great Aunt Bonnie will love seeing the pictures of you 2 in these costumes that her mother made about 50 years ago. WOW, they are "antique"! Cousin Chris and Cousin Debbie wore them too. VERY FUN!!!

You two look fabulous. :) How come you went trick or treating tonight instead of tomorrow night? Ivy has a school party tomorrow, which works out well because she's too little to go trick or treating anyway.

You really do look great. Happy Halloween!

WOW, girls, how fun for you, and even more fun for me to see you!! I love that you enjoy playing nurse. It was always fun for my sister Donna and me too. I am sending this to her so she can see you too. Hope you had a great time trick or treating safely! And I'm happy that the nurse uniforms have found a wonderful new home. Now I've looked at every single Blog photo and it's all fantastic! xoxo

I should have explained that they moved trick-or-treating to Thursday (aka "Beggar's Night"?) around here.

I haven't heard an official explanation, but my guess is because the local high school football team plays on Fridays, and it would be a violation of that sacred institution to do anything else tonight...

Happy Halloween! You look very cute in your nurse costumes. You reminded me of some great nurse books I read when I was your age. They were about a red haired nurse named Sue Barton and I loved to get them from the Dannemora library about 100 years ago. Now they're very hard to find! Enjoy your treats!

Great costumes! I hope you had fun on Halloween. Toms River goes trick-or-treating the night before Halloween too. We have the second biggest Halloween parade in the nation put on by the Fire Dept. and it has been going on for over 70 years. It has always been on Halloween (unless it falls on a Sunday)so trick-or-treating got moved.
