That sounds familiar...
On the 4th of July, we watched the DC fireworks on tv. The orchestra played Ode To Joy, and Jenna immediately said "That's from the 9th Symphony!"
Then, this being Sesame Street's 40th birthday, Big Bird came on and started to conduct the orchestra as it played the show's theme song. Jenna said, "Hmmm, that sounds familiar..." (but she couldn't quite place it).

Kindergarten Cartography
One of Jenna's favorite projects at school was making maps. Over the past two years, she assembled quite a collection, and we hung them on the wall in the basement.
She also learned about the flags of each country and the native animals. It was always fun to hear her spontaneously announce that animal x lives in country y.

Goats and Ponies
Every day on the way to school and on the way home, we drive past a little pasture with goats and ponies in it. We always say "Hi goats and ponies!" (there's a rooster there too).
One day, the animals were pretty close to the road, so Daddy pulled over and let me get out of the car. The ponies came over to say hi.
Meeting Rick Riordan
My favorite author is Rick Riordan - he wrote the Percy Jackson series about characters from Greek mythology still living in the world today. Daddy took me to meet him at a local book shop. Here's me standing by the autograph line sign.

Swimming Lessons and Beads
Swimming lessons have started up again and I'm doing really well. I can still float and my specialty is swimming on my back. I went off the diving board and it felt like I was flying (in an OK way).
Now for the beads part. I have been making things out of beads on a pegboard. So far I have made a cake, a crab, a slice of cake, a butterfly and Santa's sleigh. When I'm done making them on the pegboard I take them to Daddy and he irons them so they all stick together.
That's all for now.
